Napa’s Out…The New Wines are from North Carolina

"NAPA'S OUT…THE NEW WINES ARE FROM NORTH CAROLINA"

The Division, LKM and the N.C. Wine & Grape Council are standing tall today.   This morning, in his "Today Show" segment on new food trends, Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert said, "Napa's out… the new wines are from North Carolina."

Wines from Childress Vineyards were sitting in front of him as an example.  The Division's PR Team and the Wine & Grape Council reached out to Lempert  when they decided to partner with EMS Media to do a 15-city radio tour earlier this year.  Last week, we learned Lempert wanted to feature the state's industry in his "What's Old/What's New" food trends piece, which also featured new berries, sweeteners, bison, garbanzo beans and grapeseed oil.

The Division worked with EMS and Childress to facilitate production of the segment, which aired today.
