The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition took place the weekend of March 28th and 29th, 2009. There were many spectacular wines submitted, including some from North Carolina.
12 North Carolina wineries, including RagApple Lassie Vineyards, won a total of 46 awards. There were over 2600 entries from 41 states, 13 countries and 4 Canadian provinces entered in the competition. So it is quite exciting for my hometown state, one of the up and coming wine regions in the country, to have won this many awards, while vying against some of the very best in the world.
