Breaking News!

Just a couple quick notes:  I would like to report that RagApple Lassie Vineyards entered three wines in the Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition.  Only these three wines were entered because the rest of our current wines were entered last year and already won awards. We don't enter many competitions anymore as they are very expensive to enter and the owner feels that we have proven ourselves by winning so many awards over the last years.   She prefers to use that money for other marketing ventures.  But, this competition is close to home. so to speak, so we entered it.  We submitted 3 wines and won two gold medals and a silver.  The gold medals were for Hobson's Choice (a dry red blend from the 2005 harvest, only available at the winery) and the 2008 Pinot Gris.  The 2008 Viognier garnered a silver medal.  There were no gold medals awarded in the Viognier category, so we received the highest award.

I also would like to mention that, if you have the ability to purchase or look at the  September issue of the North Carolina "Our State" Magazine, the Yadkin Valley wine region is featured.  The article and the pictures, in particular, are spectacular.  Best of all, the "centerfold" picture is one of the RagApple Lassie Vineyard that is so beautiful, it is suitable for framing.  As a matter of fact we have already acquired a copy and it is framed and hanging in the winery.

  1. Congratulations Linda! We are in FLorida this week with friends from Erie, PA. They have a summer home on the shore there and know Madison very well, your old stomping grounds.

    Cheers!
